The Children’s Dyslexia Center offers free training programs based on phonetics and emphasizes visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. The program provides students with immediate feedback and a predictable sequence that integrates and builds reading, writing, and spelling skills.
Free Training for Tutors
The Children’s Learning Center Program offers free training for individuals who are interested in receiving initial certification as tutors in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Requirements for certification include 45 hours of classroom instruction and 100 hours of practicum work under supervision of qualified professionals tutoring two children twice a week at a Children’s Dyslexia Center.
The Children’s Dyslexia Center also provides training for advanced certification as well as graduate credit available. We are looking for tutors with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and a strong commitment to help children.

Our intensive program may be utilized for continuing education hours for education. With many hours of education and practicum experience our tutors learn new skills they can utilize in a classroom setting to expand children’s reading, writing, and spelling skills.
